April Newsletter: Office Update and Hours
4/16/20
In the past month, since our last newsletter update, there has been a lot of change in both the world around us and in our daily routines. We made the decision to close the office for the week of March 23rd, 2020 in order to monitor the ever changing situation, ensure our own health, and quite frankly take a mental break.
Since the beginning of April we have reopened with a renewed sense of health and wellness, an abundance of caution, and protocols in place that will take us through the next several months. The office will continue to be open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday for patient visits, with a modified schedule which limits one patient in the office at a time. Patients enter and go directly into a freshly disinfected room, receive treatment (with use of a mask and gloves), and leave without other patient contact. Patients are encouraged to wear a mask and gloves if desired. We also have a sink to wash hands and hand sanitizer available. We will schedule your next visit for you from the room before you leave and you will receive a reminder text and/or email the day before that next visit. We have the ability to safely store encrypted credit card information in our system to be charged at your visit eliminating the need for you to bring payment. You are welcome to bring cash or a check as before if you prefer.
Telemedicine visits are now being scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays (or other times as needed) - patients can call or email the office to make an appointment for Telemedicine services. I will be sending out a separate newsletter to cover the ever changing information on Telemedicine visits and insurance reimbursement, but there have been changes put in place with insurance carriers to cover this service with the necessary changes in healthcare. I can consult with patients, review home treatments, give exercises, and discuss nutrition and supplements with an easy log in from any computer. However, I can’t give an adjustment over the internet, and a lot of patients are hitting their limit for time between treatments at this point. Especially given the postural changes with home offices, changes to routines, and stress, the office will remain open to treat patients.
At this point we have all been quarantined so traveling to the office, with the new safety measures in place, is safer than venturing to Wegmans or Shoprite. As always, patients need to use their best judgement – please cancel or wait to schedule if you are not feeling well or have been exposed to COVID-19. In the months to come we will be continuing our social distancing, but we will need to return to some of our health and wellness routines.
There has never been a more important time to focus on our health, improve both physical and mental wellness, decrease stress, and boost immunity. We will be increasing our nutritional and supplement protocols via Telemedicine, a service we were planning to expand this year even prior to COVID-19. This will make it easier to provide patients with nutritional plans even if they live at a distance or just want to discuss nutrition from the comfort of their home or office.
I look forward to navigating the next few months with all my patients.
Find your way back to health,
Dr. Brooke
